Grand Canyon, AZ 1930-Current

The airline was started in 1927 as Scenic Airways at Grand Canyon, Arizona. Scenic Airways changed its name to Grand Canyon Airlines in 1930. It operates sightseeing tours over the Grand Canyon. On March 29, 2007, Scenic Airlines (not to be confused with Scenic Airways) was sold to Grand Canyon Airlines but continued operating under its own name. Scenic Airlines moved its operations to the Boulder City Municipal Airport. Although operations have been merged, both Scenic and Grand Canyon had been operating under two operating certificates. Scenic no longer exists after April 30, 2009 after both airlines began operations under the Grand Canyon Airlines operating certificate.
